FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS NOVEMBER 24th - A WEEK ON THE SIMS FORUMS

Sul sul lovelies!

It's finally Friday, and it's been a wonderful week full of delicious food and shopping! For all my U.S. Simmers, I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with all the green bean casserole and turkey you could ever desire. Are you doing any Black Friday shopping? Tell me what exciting new things you've bought!

A quick recap on this week's updates:

  • On Tuesday, My First Pet Stuff was released for free in the EA app, Origin and Steam stores! You can claim this pack here only for a limited time, so don't miss out!

  • Tuesday also brought us the launch of The Sims Official Merch Shop! Snag all the official and limited-edition merch, including plushies, pins and all the plumbob apparel you never knew you needed here. Brb, ordering myself those pastel sweatpants and adorable tube socks before they sell out 🧦

  • If you've missed the latest giveaway from @simgirl1010, be sure to enter for a chance to win the upcoming expansion pack, For Rent! This giveaway will close on December 5th, so there's still plenty of time to enter - best of luck to everyone!

Legacy Founders in love, posted here, by @haneul

And now it's time to embrace this week's lovely highlights!

  • With our U.S. Simmers spending so much time in their kitchens for Thanksgiving, we'll kick this week off with this wonderfully festive Spice Up Your Mood Pumpkin Kitchen, created by @chips46. Filled with bountiful seasonal décor and a warm autumnal color pallet, this kitchen is the perfect place to cook up a family feast. So whether your Sim is preparing a meal for Harvestfest, or just baking a delicious pumpkin pie, be sure to check out this gorgeous kitchen! 🥧🍂

  • Up next, @cyncie is asking for our opinion on how to move forward with their vampire gameplay story - in a world where all vampires have been exiled to Forgotten Hollow, there appears to be a new group of sleeper cell vampires slowly emerging and working to infiltrate the human world. But they'll need a home base in order to be successful, so which world should their base be located in? I'd have to agree with the popular vote of San Myshuno due to ability to easily blend in, and the abundance of Sims to feed on. But which world would you choose? Would you go for Brindleton Bay or Windenburg for aesthetic atmosphere, or would you pick Strangerville to mingle with the outpost of aliens? Tell us which one you'd pick and why! 🧛🏼‍♀️🦇

  • With The Sims 4 just recently turning 9 years old, it's only natural that we'll all have an abundance of older save files and households in our game, so @Brd709 is asking how often do you re-visit your old save files? I still play on my original save file from when The Sims launched, and although I do get bored and create new households often, there is one family that still holds a special place in my heart - the founders of my current Legacy Challenge. Even though I've moved on to several new generations, I find myself often coming back to my founder to explore new worlds, or modernize their outdated wardrobe. So tell us about your old save files, have you been playing the same family for years, or are you constantly moving on to new households? Do you prefer to start fresh save files with each new family, or do you store them all in one to play again later? Let us know what your method is for managing your saves!

  • For Rent is now only a couple weeks away, and with the new option for multi-family lots, @EgonVM wants to know how you'll be using dorms - will you be replacing University housing with rented lots, or keeping the traditional campus dorms for your students? Personally I'll still be using traditional University housing for my students, as I tend to only play one student at a time, and love having the empty rooms filled with townies. Maintaining passing grades is already quite the challenge, and I'd rather not add the extra stress of cooking, cleaning and repairing for my students. But how do you plan on housing your students? Would you prefer to choose your own roommates in a residential lot, or would you rather not worry about rent and other bills in University housing? Or are you opting for neither and keeping your students at home? Let us know which pros and cons you have for these lot types, and which one you'll be choosing! 👩🏿‍🎓📚

  • And to finish us off this week, @MichelleW is asking a rather difficult question - if you only had a certain number of "points" to spend on all packs, which would you pick? Here's how the point system works: expansion packs are worth 3 points, game packs are worth 2, stuff packs will cost you 1 point, and kits are worth .5 points. If you have a total of 15 points to spend, how will you spend them? While this is entirely too much math for me, I think I'd have to go for City Living, Seasons and Snowy Escape for expansions, Parenthood and Spa Day for game packs, and of course Laundry Day and Paranormal for stuff packs. So tell us how you're spending your points, are you using all 15 for expansions, or are there other packs you just can't live without? Share with us which packs are your must-haves!

And that's all for another fantastic week! As always, stay safe, have a wonderful weekend, and happy Simming 💚
Till next time!
