Hello @Gabby18 :) It is nice to meet you. It is nice that you first started playing The Sims at your friends home. You and your friend would have had many fun times playing The Sims together. It is great that you have most of the EPs for sims 3. There are great features that come with each EP and the worlds are each different in their types. The new Sims 4 EP does sound great! It will be fun to play!

Hi! I've been simming since The Sims first came out. I never made the shift to Sims 3, but Sims 4 looked like it had more scope for the kind of "sit back and watch them do their thing" play that I like best. Tecently I've started making little videos that are a sort of mash-up of documentary and Let's Play, where I set up conditions similar to a particular historical period and see what my sims do. I've been spending a lot of time educating myself on the basics of making videos, using youtube, and finding and inserting mods. I'd like to thank all the people on youtube, modthesims, and here in the forums who have have posted tutorials. Without your help, I wouldn't be getting anywhere. It is great that you are setting up sims to live in different historical periods, and recording the playing to share with other simmers on YouTube . I've been a simmer since base game TS1many, many moons ago when I was a wee lass. My older brother bought it and I took it over. However, I was never allowed to have Hot Date - though, I realize now that was a wise decision from my mother. Nevertheless, Makin' Magic was the entirety of my middle school LIFE.

I'm glad to be surrounded simmers who are both young and aged, new to the game and veterans alike. I'm genuinely looking forward to taking part in this community. Long live the sims!

Hello @SkyePlisken :) It is nice to meet you. It is nice that you have been enjoying simming since the original The Sims. You would have had lots of fun times over the years simming, building, creating and watching your sims living their lives.
It is great that the forums are made up of a variety of simmers of all ages, and who have been simming either for a long time or are new to simming. It is nice meeting other simmers and learning lots of helpful things about playing the game. I hope that you enjoy spending time on the forums.

I've had all the games & all the EP's since then & have now passed the addiction on to my own kids (a 7 & 5 year old) who have got their own town in TS4 to occasionally play with me after they kept messing around with my town & coming up with some really great story ideas lol.

I'm currently only focused on my legacy family in the TS4 though I keep taking breaks from it to design random houses. Got to admit I'm finding TS4 a bit slow at the moment but I'm really hopefully that it will soon pic up once after a few EP & GPs, but even if it don't I love The Sims too much to stop playing lol :smiley:

It is great that you have been enjoying simming since the first Sims games and have had lots of fun playing the different versions and enjoying the EPS that each version has. Each EP brings different great features to playing the sims. It is very nice that now your kids are having fun simming too! It is a great idea for them to have their own town to make as their own. They sound like they have great creative ideas and ways for stories for their sims! Simming is a fun and enjoyable way of being creative! I hope that your legacy family is going well. It is nice seeing the different generations of the family.

Hello all, you can call me Flower. I'm new to the forum, though not so new to the series. I've been a fan of The Sims since the second installment. Back then my pc was old and barely able to hand word processing so I was stuck playing on the PS2, and let me tell you the struggle was so real lol. Now that I've got a gaming laptop I'm ready to start playing in earnest/telling some really cool stories. I love the creative freedom that these games bring and I really enjoy reading all the awesome stories you guys are coming up with. I'm going to try to be more active on the forum (though I am rather shy) and hopefully I'll be a full member soon so that I can contribute more to this awesome community.

So sorry, I posted here a few pages back as a "welcome aboard" from me too.. and totally neglected to do my part and introduce myself. I had thought it was only for those just joining the site.

So anyway, my name is Miki-- I registered with my real first name before I realized it is more a matter of course to use something else as a screen-name in here. But no harm, it's not that big a personal detail so as to violate forum rules.

I started playing Sims 1 maybe 8 or 9 years ago. At that time I had merely heard about it from someone else who tried it and it sounded fascinating, and since TS 1 had been out for years I got it on the cheap.

Then "real life" priorities got in the way and I set it aside for those pursuits until I saw a display case for TS 4 last fall and I had to try it.

I've been playing ever since, although my "sittings" tend to be less than two hours at a time. In the interim I kind of plan what to do next in the game.

Other than that, as my signature says, I'm an I T geek, (so I sit in front of these infernal machines for a living). When not working, (as a member posted a ways back), "I shower, sleep and eat" like anyone else!

You need not be a full member to take part in any conversation you like, ask any questions and so-forth. The only difference really being you'll have to be a full member to post links, an avatar, and (I think) have a signature.

Just jump on in and speak up whenever you like, you'll "graduate" in no time at all!
