I'm very disappointed that I spent money to Not to be able to play the sims 1 legacy because it will not launch and then the sims 2 crashes. I need something like you are aware of this and you will have a fix because I don't want to try to fix it myself, which I have done all that others have suggested.
smrtchksim For Sims 1, please try reinstalling your 2015 and newer VC++ runtimes. Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and uninstall everything from 2015 and newer. Don't touch the older versions.
Download the x86 and x64 versions (not the ARM version) of the 2022 runtimes from Microsoft:

Install the runtimes, restart your computer, and try to play.
