How do i get the sims 2 to work with windows 7

Have you already tried to play in Compatibility Mode as explained here (it's the same for WIndows 7)? SIMS 2 compaitability with windows 8

If yes, can you try to patch the game to the latest version? The Sims 2 (original) Patch Help
