- I always was a fan of the store concept. The way I see it is this: Packs give the player who wants everything in them a discount, which is great, of course. But what if I want only half of the content? I'd rather pay for exactly what I want only, even that mathematically makes each item a little overprized.
For example I bought Bust the Dust for five Euro. Had it been an SP, it would have cost ten, so I'd lost five euro, that could have went towards a pizza. I'd rather have the hoovers and the pizza than the hoovers and furniture/clothes for my sims.
Money worries aside, the treehouse, baby carrier and childrens' bikes from GrT would have been an instant buy from me. But I don't want the rest of the gameplay, as many of the new feature clash with my playstyle. - cyncieSeasoned VeteranI liked the store, too. Some people claimed it was a money grab, and I guess if you have to have everything offered in your game, it could seem that way. But, I’ve always been choosy about my content and thought of it as a way to customize in ways the packs didn’t offer. You could get items that suited your game, a la carte. I got additional BB items, CaS, gameplay items, and even whole worlds through the store. Roaring Heights and the surf machine were essential to two of my saves. I think the kits are meant to be something of a replacement for the store, but they haven’t quite reached that level yet.
- FreddyFox1234Seasoned VeteranI didn’t like the store at all when it first came out and I refused to buy anything from it. It just seemed like a money grab. So I had TS3 for years without any store content (other than what was free, like Riverview). I’m now playing TS3 again (more than I ever did before) and … I’m loving the store! I’ve got a whole list of items I’m tracking on the Daily Deals, and I’m adding to my game some fantastic content with new gameplay for bargain prices! I can’t help but compare it with what I’d get for the equivalent money in TS4 kits. I can get an entire venue with premium content gameplay in a Daily Deal for not much more than a TS4 kit that has no new gameplay at all.
So I quite like being able to get small sets of additional content to personalise your game, whether in kit form (TS4) or in a store (TS3), but they do have to feel like they’re worth the money — which for me means having gameplay, not just being nice to look at. And having things on sale makes a huge difference. It can be fun to wait to get something at a cheaper price and feel you’ve got a bargain. I really wish kits would go on sale. - I don't like the store content being the main content for the game because it makes it unneededly hard to buy things without use of credit cards/online banking that people may not have access to due to region they are inSpoilerfor example I can now get gift card thats like 15 or 25 or 40 euros and it works quite okay for buying packs that are 5,10, 20 or 40 euros
but it would be very silly if I wanted say some 2 euros hairstyles pack or whatever and I had to get giftcard for 15 just to get that one thing
even with online banking it would feel kind of silly to me tbh I just prefer to have big packs of content and pay for things once not paying for small things about 1000 times
maybe if I could have big packs that are gameplay and gameplay items only I could get on board with splitting cas, b/b or worlds into separate smaller content packs but also I really doubt we will ever have packs that are just gameplay no fluff
on other hand: I'm not even sure I'll ever move on to Rene as I've yet to really be particularily interested in it so in a way it wouldn't be world end to me if it wasn't what I wanted I'd just continue playing TS4 :P - AnonymousPacks over Sims 3 store
- SimsBarbieNew SpectatorI loved when new content came out in the store.
- FriendlySimmersSeasoned Rookiesorry but i have to disagree if i went in game content i went to be able to have the option to use the ingame money option simoleons not real money unless the ea gifts cards can be applyed on purchuses
