  • I am getting the same error, plus others, about running scripts.

I haven't played the game in a long time either, as the laptop I originally had it on had issues, then I got a new one and it wasn't compatible. I am in the process of gettingn the old one back up and running and I think I have all the Windows Vista updates completed, yet I am still having issues with the launcher.

    The first message is:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

    Line: 2

    Char: 29694

Error: Object doesnt support this property or method.

    Code: 0

    URL: http://www.thesims.com/bundles/eathesims/dist/js/vendor.min.js?v=1403218805785

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

    The second one is:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

    Line: 1

    Char: 14

    Error: 'angular' is undefined

    Code: 0

    URL: http://www.thesims.com/bundles/eathesims/dist/js/vendor.min.js?v=1403218805785

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

    The third one is:

An error has occurred in the script on this page.

    Line: 1760

    Char: 3

    Error: 'angular' is undefined

    Code: 0

    URL: http://www.thesims.com/launcher?languageCode=1

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

After that I get a dialog stating that the launcher has stopped working.

Please help! I want to be able to play this game again!

I too am having the exact same errors as described. In addition, my Sims 2 launcher now says "You are using an outdated browser. Please upgrade to Internet Explorer 10 or above to improve your experience."

I have IE 10 installed on my computer, though Google Chrome is my default browser. I also see that there's a new Sims 4 ad that tries to load on the launcher, but the whole thing crashes before it fully loads.

I can bypass the error by disconnecting from the internet entirely. Then the ad doesn't load, I don't get the script error, and I can actually turn on my game. It's my uneducated guess that the Sims 4 ad may be causing the script errors and launcher crashes.

Now that I'm past the script error, if I could just get the game to load past the EA logo, I'd be in business. -disappointed sigh-

Sims 4 ad is the PROBLEM! .. Disconnect from the internet..

I play sims 2 daily, i only had that problem yesterday. I thought maybe the new downloads I've made where the problem, I deleted them, still got the error. I cleaned up my computer, still got the error. I downloaded IE 10 but couldn't install cause incompatible with my laptop ! I was about to give up and say that my laptop is the problem cuz it might be too old and having it's issues.. but then i thought to myself to disconnect from the internet maybe the ad would disapper.. IT DID ! and i played sims 2 normally.. though the game loads at the beginning a bit slower but atleast it worked

    Hope I've helped :D
