It is odd that they are titling it that still at this point - games are usually titled that way so that if someone catches some internal convo they don't know what Project René is and it becomes useless to them. Sims 4 was originally Project Olympus. Now that we know what Project René is going to be they really ought to call it TS5 - unless they're thinking of calling it something pretentious like simply calling it The Sims and abandoning the numbering.

Changing the name like that would just give Life By You and Paralives an equal footing. It will release as The Sims 5 or The Sims _____ because EA does kniw marketing.

I seriously doubt the final title will be Project Rene. Doubtless that is just the code name for the product until they give it the final go ahead, and the official title. Nobody knows yet what that title could be, they could call it Sims 5, they could take a page from Microsoft’s book and title it with the release year instead (Windows 4 was windows 95) they could use a Roman numeral, who knows. They already did a Sims Online, a Sims FreePlay, a Sims Social, and a Sims Mobile, and a MySims. So those titles can be ruled out unless they do this like a sequel.
