Even The Sims 1 had 7 expansion packs, but I feel like no game has been milked as much as The Sims 4.
TS1 to TS2 was 4 years. Admittedly a bit rushed, since the code is a mess under the hood.
TS2 to TS3 was 5 years. Same for TS3 to TS4.
Assuming 2022 is correct, TS4 to TS5 is 8 years. And they put some pretty basic stuff from previous games in DLC and expansion packs for TS4.
