Languages

While playing SIMS2 I had started to notice that my SIM characters started using the English language the more I played the game. So much so to the point that one day while a SIM couple were playing in a sprinkler the wife, who was pregnant had started backing her butt up to the spray of water and then stepped back laughing hysterically and clear as a bell, even though she stuttered the words because she was laughing so hard..very clearly said "Who, who's, who's your mama?' After that her husband stepped back, puffed up his chest moving back and forth and said "I'm the man, I'm the man." I was blown away hearing them speaking clear English. My question is...will they eventually speak in English of you play the game long enough, or what that just a wild fluke like the time one of my pregnant SIMS showed up at her BF's house and caught him fooling around. She went crazy on him, slapping him in the face and then went in to labor. She gave birth to a baby girl, handed it to him and left.  I had never seen that in game before and called EA to ask if she would come back to get her baby and was told it had never happened before and to please call back to keep them up to date on whether or not she did return to get her baby. Turns out she didn't and the Dad ended up being a great single dad. He even took the child to visit her when she was old enough to travel. Lastly, if the English speaking was another fluke, when, if ever will EA incorporate English speaking SIMS? Or languages that coincide with the countries they are played in? I would love to see them speak English. Especially since I have been playing since the SIMS first came out.

The sims do not speak any real world languages. They speak a made up language called simlish.

Sometimes you can seem hear familiar words within the nonsense, but they are not actually saying those words. For example; someone could interpret something like "ticker ni" as "tickle me" because it sounds very similar.

It was suggested somewhere that the sims speak their own language because it would get monotonous and boring to hear the same understandable phrases over and over. It would be annoying to hear sims have this conversation 29 times a day:

    "hey"

    "hey, how are you"

    "great"

    "me too"

    "bye"

    "see you!"

*The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is known for its awkward conversations between NPCs like this example.

I hope this answers you question
