(Mac) Sims Medieval Un-Updatable, Pirates & Nobles Not Compatible

---So, I bought the deluxe Sims Medieval package with Pirates & Nobles from Origin. Install SM, launch page sketchy, can't access the game, says I need to download updates. Try this multiple times to no success (download looks successful but no change after download is complete/still cant access the actual game). Try to install P&N, get pop-up saying there is a compatibility error, that my SM is un-updatable and that P&N is incompatible.

--On to the forums...do some searches, find one that says to re-install (might have just been a glitch). Nope. Find one that has an easy fix (TSM'ing something in the plst text, in text edit). This successfully leap frog's the launch page to grant me access to game play.Try some game play, try to re-launch the launcher, try to re-install P&N...still nothing. Find another "ultimate fix" that is supposed to be the complete fix for everything that EA has mucked up to get game play to Mac's...nope.

--I've tried to find relevant patches (found one for sims3 doesn't work), and I have been all over these forums for the past 48hrs. There has got to be something!

--Thinking it has something to do with the launcher not working properly, but I can't find anything related to how to fix the codes or what it might be.

--There has got to be some brilliant wizard out there who knows how to fix this!

...This is your challenge! 🙂

once its downloaded it will come up as a zip file, if you click the file it will open it unless you have your security and privacy settings on.

    - to turn those off you go to System Preferences and then click security & privacy, on the general tab at the bottom there is a section that allows apps to be downloaded from any where, they will be grayed out so you have to click on the lock button to unlock the choices once open change the setting to anywhere.

    - if you have trouble unlocking the lock, it will be due to you not having set a password to type in, to do so just look at the top of the general tab and follow the button.

once this is done go back and re click on the download it will ask if you are ok with terms and conditions click the yes button then it will open a window and ask you to save the patch in the sims medieval folder you can type that in at the top or just go to applications to find the relevant folder once there click the folder and press install it should now install the patch.

    Good luck.

    P.s.

your next problem will be it asking for the cd key again but thats a whole other issue :D hope this helps.
