You can always redeem your Sims 2 games in Origin and then download and install them from there.

Is it still possible to do this?
It doesn't work automatically and I've attempted to get this done by using EA Chat twice and both times the person has been unable to help (after asking me questions for an hour or so each time.)
It's annoying having to install the Sims 2 with base game and the more recent expansions on Origin but some of the earlier expansions on CD and then trying to work out how to install and patch correctly in between.
I'd prefer to have them all on Origin so I can install the whole game that way and this forum suggests it should be possible.
Have I just gotten the wrong people on EA support or is the redeeming of retail Sims 2 games no longer allowed?
