My original box code is not working [the sims 2]

When I heard about this big action called " if you have the sims 2 you can get every single patch for free in origin !", Im just walked to my game shelf, get original package whitin the sims 2 and i wanted to activate my box code on origin, but its not working, why ? Am I doing something wrong ? The instruction to solve this problem brougth me to chat with EA meneger, but yesterday I was waiting about 3 hours, and noone were free to chat.. And then i went there to ask some other guys, who can have the same problem...
