Need help transferring CD game to Macbook Pro

I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro this year and my SIMS 2 disc isn't compatible as it is a bit old. Am I able to transfer everything from my disc onto my laptop to play on here or do I need to upload an app?

@WebbGirl2021 Physical copies of The Sims 2 for Mac are not compatible with new versions of macOS. To play the game on Mac, you can purchase The Sims 2 Super Collection on Mac App Store, which is the most up to date version of The Sims 2 for Mac.

@WebbGirl2021 , if you have an M1 chip in your MacBook, please note that some times the game will work with lowered graphic settings. If you do encounter any problems with the game, please open a ticket with Aspyr (the company who ported the game to the Mac) so that hopefully the issue can be resolved.

Thanks for the tips! How do I find out if my MacBook has the M1 chip?

@WebbGirl2021 Click on the Apple menu > About this Mac. It should show you the information about your Mac, and if it's an Intel or M1 Mac.
  • I have good news (to a degree) about Sims 2 Super Collection. Aspyr is aware of the issue with the M1 chips and is currently working on a solution. There is no time frame available on when it will be fixed, but they are aware of the issue.
