Origin can't install The Sims Medieval or expansion

I've been on this for freaking days now.
As it says in my headline: Origin can't install my The Sims Medieval or Pirates and Nobles correctly. As it installs it will load all the way, but as it finishes it ends with an error message which says: "Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue (-529697949)"

I've tried everything on EA's help list "VC++ and .dll errors with Origin", but nothing made a difference. It still doesn't work.
My Windows 10 is up to date. I've tried to repair/reinstall the security updates. I've tried downloading several versions of Microsoft Visual C++. I tried enable the NET framework.

Origin still replies with the same message.

I've tried to run the game + Origin through the "Run programs made for previous versions of Windows" and set it to Windows 7. Doesn't work.

Thing is, I can make the base game work if I install it with the disc, but I want to make it work with Pirates and Nobles that I recently bought as a digital copy. I uninstalled my base game to install it directly via Origin, so I could make it work with the expansion. But Origin can't install the base game. I have even made sure to when I uninstalled the disc version I also removed all The Sims Medieval files that the uninstall program missed. Doesn't work.

I've tried to reinstall Origin multiple times. When I've installed the game with the disc version I've then tried to "repair" the game in Origin but the same error message appears. I've tried to install Pirates and Nobles with the disc version of the base game but Origin can't install that game either.

I tried to chat with EA's support to see if they knew what to do, but he just linked the "VC++ and .dll errors with Origin"-list that I've already tried multiple times already. When I told him so he didn't know how to help and said he sent my case to the experts at EA and that they would email me when they know a solution, but they haven't emailed me so far.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. THIS IS TOO FRUSTRATING. WHY CAN'T THE GAMES I'VE BOUGHT JUST WORK LIKE THEY SHOULD???
