Palia vs René?

Palia is a new 100% cooperative no combat MMO with house building, farming etc. The difference of course is that it is based on the Animal Crossing / Stardew Valley / Coral Island tradition of games, and as such you have to forage for materials and craft items for resources to build your house and so on. The build mode in itself is very much inspired by Sims tho, with a top down view and grid.

The question is: For the people who want René to be a "Sims MMO", is this what they actually are looking for? (Personally I would play the heck out of it if it wasn't actually an MMO...)

I love the art style and fantasy realm in this game and downloaded the open beta to try out single player mode. Unfortunately, there’s a problem of compatibility with my graphics card and it won’t launch. Maybe it will be changed by the time they go to full release. I’m also a storyteller and prefer to develop and play my whole world, so it’s not going to scratch the same itch that Sims does. I don’t really want quests in The Sims, and I always lose interest when games focus on grinding for points, etc. What I find missing in TS4 is randomness… not enough unexpected events injected into the game. TS3 had a lot more of those moments to play off of. But, I can’t really blame the devs for that. They basically gave the players what they wanted and nerfed most of the randomness that was in there to start with.
