Project Rene, Sim from Sims 4 to Project Rene
Is it possible for our Sims to be carried over?
like my Sim from Sims 4 would be replicated as a Sim in Project Rene

- @Chimichanga128 This has never happened before from Sims 1 to 2 to 3 to 4. Everything is built from the ground up including genetics, personality, clothing, etc.
- @Chimichanga128 Hello! So as they had said in the stream we are all really surprised they announced this amazing thing so early, so it could be a few years before it actually comes out; so it could be a possibility, but no promises.

- @Chimichanga128 My educated guess is that there is a 95+% chance that porting sims will not be possible. They are reimagining the Sims from the ground up.

I hope that project Rene is the transition from sims 4 into sims 5. I can't imagine spending the money on sims 5 and starting all over with the expansion packs and spending more money. My fingers are crossed that the sims team take this into consideration and transitions Sims 4 into sims 5- so we can continue to play our sim families and packs. Even if you had to pay a transition fee to turn sims 4 into 5- I would do it!!
It seems to me that part of the reason for announcing this so early is to elicit feedback from the community. With that in mind, I don't think anything is out of the realm of possibility at this point. If the team decides to completely redesign the look of sims in general, then porting TS4 sims into the new version will be problematic. However, if they keep the basic design, I see no reason why it shouldn't be possible to keep existing sims. Based on what was mentioned in the stream, the main focus seems to be on incorporating play across multiple devices and not necessarily a drastic change to the look and feel of the game. Whatever the case, I too would like the option to move my sims (and lots) to the next gen game. Fingers crossed. :-)
