Re: Sims Medieval Invalid Serial Code. Cannot Play Game without!

having same problem as others above. I tried to talk to an advisor who told me to turn my comp of and on after giving me instructions for turning of messenger and face time for an iPhone even though she new i was using a mac. so did the best i could and restarted my comp to find i couldn't even contact the woman again because there where no channels available. i am officially pissed i spent time downloading, installing and patching this game only to learn that i waisted money and time on a game that i can't even play. Ea really needs to buck up its ideas and actually test there games properly before they sell them as well as upgrade its customer service as what I've seen so far is pathetic. It takes a lot to anger me and I'm officially angry. Im really unimpressed.

    Hi guys,

If you have tried the solutions listed below but the issue persists, please contact an Advisor. They will try to register the code on their side or replace it.

To do so simply click here and fill in the form.

    Change Date/Time

    Spoiler
    1. Open Date/Time Preferences
    2. Change the year to 2011 (not sure if other previous years would work).
    3. Launch the game again and activate.
    4. Quit the game and correct the date/time.
    5. Launch game again.

Extremely pissed off that this won't work!!!!
  • Zoe, most of us in this thread have tried those solutions to no avail. I've worked with a support rep, and was told that EA would have to fix the activation system on their end ultimately.

So thank you for noticing that it's still broken for a number of us, but you're going to need to produce a solution other than those we've been given already. Unfortunately, I doubt that EA will bother to update an older game to remove the broken activation system or fix it, leaving us stranded.

The least you could do is remove it from the store, so this thread does not continue to accumulate new customers who similarly feel ripped off by being sold an unplayable game.

I will be getting a refund. I cannot believe how many issues Ea games/ origin have in their games. It's pathetic.
You need to have it addressed and fixed. Or removed from the sale site.

One thing I thought of that it seems no one has tried. Go into your Library and remove files under Preferences for "Transgaming the Sims Medieval". Try registering the last game code you had BEFORE you install the game. And then try installing.

@EA_Zoe, I'm afraid this is an issue with Origin/Macs and the solutions you mentioned are not working for most people. It is something that EA needs to have the Sims 4 Mac team possibly take a look at since they are already familiar with the Mac OS instead of Windows.

    Thanks!

Yeah an EA games dude. And no, he just told me to be patient. Easier said than done.

It has taken EA a very long time to take Mac users seriously. Before the games were sent to Aspyr to recode for the Mac OS. Now, they do it in house. Hopefully, they will be able to fix the problem.

I've literally just bought the Deluxe Pack and getting the same issues (also on a Mac, running El Captain) - wish I had seen this thread earlier! Anyone know how to get a refund?

  • Best I was able to do was get a free older game, and them insisting that they didn't need to remove it from the store or put a warning up. ☹️
