- @mate54 I bypassed the popup by going to regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > Microsoft > Windows > Current version > Policies > System > EnableLUA > 0
Also I tried Powershell and Command Prompt, but they couldn't find the location of the file even though I moved it and copied the adress, it was weird. Are you running the game through Origin? If so you need to add Origin as a trusted site or app
- @Tremayne4260 No, I only have CDs and I never registered them (and now it's not possible).

@Leopardka If the Autorun just won't start, make sure you don't have any potential Sims 2 installation references already on your PC.
To run the installer using Command Prompt, open it as Administrator (search for cmd in the Start Menu, right-click on it and Run as Administrator). It should say C:\WINDOWS\system32>.
Find out which drive the game disk is in (D:, E:, etc.), then switch to it in cmd. For example, if the game disk is in D:, just type in D: (so it says C:\WINDOWS\system32>D:) and press enter.
After it switches, type in Autorun.exe and press Enter, then see if the installer opens.
- @mate54 Hey! It kinda helped (the CD for sure was turning quickly in my CD-Rom) but the installation didn't start at all. (Again.) I got this message: https://ibb.co/8gNX6GM

@Leopardka Once you use the Autorun command in Powershell (which seems to be the one you used in the previous message), does any kind of Sims 2 executable or installer show up in Task Manager / Details? If it does show up on the list, try right-clicking on it and select Analyze Wait Chain. If there is any process blocking it, end it and see if the installer starts.
- @mate54 Sadly, it doesn't. :/ I tried to even search the history or something but seems that The Sims only shows that it exists, but nothing more (they won't run). I also tried contacting EA, but as it's only in CD form, they are refusing to help.:/
@Leopardka , try this. This seems to help some players to install the game.
1) Insert your Sims 2 CD/DVD into your disk drive and open up your local hard drive.
2) Go to File, New Folder.Name this folder "Disk Images."
3) Go into the "Disk Images" folder and create another folder called "Disk1." If you're installing a version of The Sims 2 or an expansion with multiple disks, create folders for each disk. Label them "Disk2," "Disk3" and "Disk4." *Note* It is important you do not put a space in between "Disk" and the number you use.
4) Open up "My Computer" and select your Sims 2 CD. If the autorun comes up, cancel it as well as the installation.
5) Right-click The Sims 2 CD. Click "Explore."
6) Click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window and choose "Select All." You can also press CTRL+A.
7) Click on the "Edit" tab again and select "Copy." CTRL+C also works.
8) Head into your "Disk1" folder. Go to the "Edit" tab and select "Paste." CTRL+V works as well. Continue until you've copied and pasted the information from all the disks into their appropriate folders.
9) Find the autorun file in the "Disk1" folder and double click it. This should install the game as normal. When you are finished, you can delete the "Disk Images" folder.
Tips
If you encounter any file transfer errors when copying and pasting, try cleaning your disk. If that fails, your disk is either scratched or corrupted.
- @Tremayne4260 Alright, I tried this step by step and still nothing ☹️

I got mine to work with an Administrator account on my PC with Windows 11. I got Mansion and Garden Stuff on through it. It has black boxes for shadows but there's a modification made by a player that fixes that.
Go to Microsoft in Google Search for installing the disks for a start. Each problem I searched had a fix. I used Google Search to trouble shoot every problem.
I bought Seasons after and installed that as well.
Good luck, and happy Simming!!
You are the BEST!!!!!! Nothing would work. I’m so glad I came across your comment!!!
