@Multigiuseppe3 and @VioletKen , the Mac version of Sims 2 does not require the disks nor Origin and you cannot register your disks on Origin as Origin no longer supports any version of Sims 2. (It has never supported Sims 2 for the Mac as the game was ported by a company called Aspyr). The only way to get the Sims 2 for the Mac OS is to buy the Sims 2 Super Collection from the Apple App Store for about $20 US which is way cheaper than what I paid when I originally bought the game. If you still have your disks for the Mac OS, they will not run on any Macs made within the past few years or so because Apple switched to using the Intel chips and did away with the PowerPC architecture that the disks used so they will no longer work on most modern Macs.
Similarly with the Windows OS, you can no longer register your disks as the game is not available for purchase or free on Origin. EA ended the giveaway in October 2018. Here is the thread in which EA announced this. https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-The-Sims-Games/Ending-code-support-for-The-Sims-2-Ultimate-Collection/m-p/7101525#M15431.
If you have your original disks from your Windows computer, you can get the game to run using Windows as long as you have your disks, an external hard drive and a copy of Windows.
Please also note that this thread was started in 2014 and digging up an old thread is considered against the rules on this forum. If you have a similar problem, it is ok to link to the older thread and request help in a new thread.
