@katsimming , the Graphics Ruler Maker helps solve that issue. You need to make sure the game recognizes your type of graphics card which is what this program does. As computers have updated their processors and graphics cards, the Sims 2 was made well before many of these newer cards were made. Graphics Rule Maker adds your type of card to Graphics Rule.sgr (the file in the game that recognizes which cards are which).
Do you happen to know which type of graphics card you have?
I never got that error until I downloaded graphics rule maker that’s why I’m wondering if I need to adjust the settings but I don’t want to mess it up even more.
I’m not sure what type of graphics card I have, is there a way of checking?

@katsimming , here is how you locate what kind of graphics card your computer has. You will need this information to make sure the game recognizes your graphics card.
To check the graphics card on Windows 10 with System Information, use these steps:- Open Start.
- Search for System Information and click the top result to open the tool.
- Expand the Components branch.
- Click on Display.
- Under the "Adapter Description" field, determine the graphics card installed on your device.

@katsimming , ok, go to Leefish's forum and check to see if your graphics card is included the current make up of Graphics Rule Maker. Since you now know what kind of graphics card you have, you can check to see if it is included or need to add it. You'll need to Google search to find the link to Leefish's forum. There are also instructions on how to use Graphic Rule Maker there too.
