Should sims experience extreme weather events, or other natural disasters?

I'll go for that extreme weather, as long as a) there is a toggle for the "safe-space'rs" to turn things off and not have to deal with a "slice of reality" and b) there are careers or activities involved around them...like storm chasing, weather prediction and disaster rescue.

We actually already have earthquakes, blizzards, thunderstorms and volcanos (in TS4, depending on packs owned and lot traits). I think it could be fun if they added more though and integrated it more into the settings themselves rather than lot traits. It would need a toggle for the people that don't want it affecting their game at all.

Love this idea too and I'd definitely want something like that included.

Interesting idea, but do we really want folks that can't get snow right to implement this?

It's the rain I can't handle at the moment. I've turned it off for a while as it's too frequent in some areas and I'm getting tired of it. Less of that and and occasional disaster might shake the game up a bit though. If those who don't want disasters can turn them off.

For me, the number of days of rain in my game is nothing. In fact, the rains within the Sims games soothes me because it reminds me of home. :D Where I live, we get 165.1 days of rain in a year. It's pretty much nearly one in every 2.2 days it's a rainy one. Our unofficial provincial flower is the "umbrella" which blossoms when it's wet outside.

Maybe in a game pack so those of us who don't want them can simply not buy it. That way it can be done really well for those who do want it.

I'm totally into it. The game would be much more difficult, it's something I miss in the sims 4. Obviously - l know a lot of players wouldn't like it so I guess there should be an option to turn it off.

I agree that integrating more gameplay WITH such events would be more meaningful- be it related careers or including these events in a memory system would be optimal. But that's my general feeling- not just adding more stuff to the sims but making what is added more meaningufl to gameplay.
