Should The Sims start catering more for the AFOTS?

I'm middle aged but still not nostalgic. I'd like stronger personalities and more simulation - I really don't want to play with dolls and I don't get emotionally invested in my Sims as people.

The thing I remember most from the Sims is that they'd always wet themselves. I'm glad the AI has improved a bit.
