Sims 1 + 2 EA app or Steam

I’ve downloaded the bundle on the EA app and have not been able to play any of them. 
Sims 1 doesn’t even open anything when I click on it, meanwhile when I try open Sims 2 I keep getting the message “Some needed files were corrupted during the installation. Please reinstall this application.”, which I’ve done, and it’s the same message again.

Now I’m wondering if the games work on Steam, or they’re facing the same problems over there with not getting their game to load either?

    vrdu  I don't know about the relative frequency, or about the Sims 2 error, but for Sims 1 at least, there are enough reports that the game won't launch on both platforms to say it's not entirely EA App-related.  Have you tried reinstalling your VC++ runtimes yet?  If not, please do so now.  Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and uninstall everything from 2015 and newer. Don't touch the older versions.

    Download the x86 and x64 versions (not the ARM version) of the 2022 runtimes from Microsoft:

    Install the runtimes, restart your computer, and try to play.

    And keep in mind that a patch will likely be released soon (according to EA posts on social media) and hopefully clear up most of the launching and crashing issues.
