When I load a household in the Sims 1, none of the items or walls load correctly. Sometimes they appear when a Sims uses them autonomously but will disappear again once they’re done. When exiting to the neighborhood, the household creates visual glitch on map when saved.
I’ve tried restarting the game, computer and “repaired” it on the EA App but nothing seems to work. Huge letdown.
I'm also having the same issue, I don't know what to do anymore after trying everything that was said before... also attached my dxdiag!
If so many people are having the same issue, couldn't it be that it comes from the game / software itself and not so much from the players' software/hardware? Just a thought, I may be wrong! Thank you for your help !

gndb1jfl14co Please update your laptop's graphics driver, which is from 2018. You can get the newest-available version (dated December 19) from Intel here:
Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.
If you get an error when trying to install the driver, that would be HP's software blocking any drivers not provided by HP. There's a way around it; just let me know and I'll type it out.
Either way, I'd also suggest increasing your computer's page file size, as described above:

QueenMaddy1996 Your graphics driver is just as outdated, so please see the above. Here's the newest driver for your graphics chip (same driver actually, but different download page for the different CPU):

Select GeForce, 10-series (notebooks), 1050 ti, Windows 10, and download the Game Ready Driver. Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart after installing and before trying to play.
By the way, your Acer Registration app is crashing, so you might want to tell it not to start with Windows. You can do that in the Task Manager's Startup section.

hschurr I need to see a dxdiag from you to find the correct driver for your system. If you still can't install that, yes, I'll write out how to get around the problem. But the workaround would allow you to install a driver that's actually incompatible, which would be harmful, so it's important to find exactly the right one.
Thanks so much for your help! I followed your instructions:
1) Cleared up some space, ended up with 34 GB of free space
2) Updated my driver - this involved some extra steps. My graphics driver was locked to the manufacturer, so I had to download driver (from the link you shared) > turn off wifi > uninstall current driver > install downloaded driver "clean" install > reboot > turn on wifi (for origin/ea games app).
My game is now running and I couldn't be happier. I've been looking forward to playing Sims 1 again for such a long time! Thank you again <3
