Sims 1 on Windows 10

Hi, I’m very new to gaming on my computer. I recently purchased sims 1 but it will not work on windows 10! I tried watching so many YouTube videos, reading so many forums, and I tried getting the patch to work. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially since I don’t know what I’m doing half the time. Can someone please explain to me how to get Sims 1 to work on Windows 10 but in a way that I can understand? Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it.
