@ladygreeneyes649 , the CD drive recognizes the TS3 disks ok and you can play that ok correct? It's the TS2 disk that for some reason isn't being recognized and read correct? Have you tried cleaning the disk with a soft cloth? Sometimes there is something unseen on the disk that is not allowing the disk drive to read and recognize it. You may also need to clean the disk drive itself as well and kits for those can be found on computer retail sites/stores or Amazon and usually aren't that expensive.
Just trying to think of things that prevent the disks from being read properly. Please keep me posted.
Yes, that's correct, though my laptop reads TS2 disc just fine. The desktop reads TS3 disc, but not TS2, for some reason. I'd play on the laptop, but I can't open the cheat box there. CTRL+SHIFT+C doesn't work. Looked all over, some people stated a particular program used the same hotkey, but that isn't in the computer, so no idea there! Frustrating!! Something about this PC just can't see that disc. I don't know if the drive could be flaky, and reading some and not others, or if it's some weird program error, and don't know what to do at this stage. Disc is good, drive seems to be good, but no joy. Considering an external disc drive, since I sort of want a Lightscribe one anyway, but no idea if that will work or not. If it's the drive being particular (which I can't see how that could be it), that might work, but if it's some weird program issue, I'll be right where I started.
I'd play on Origin, except I suspect the cheat window wouldn't open for that on the laptop, either, and on the PC, I do NOT want it updating TS3 to 1.69, and I don't know that I could avoid having that happen. I've heard a ton of comments from people stating it updated automatically, and they couldn't stop it, and subsequently had tons of issues from that Origin patch for TS3. I can't even locate data to say if installing on a different user account would work or not. Any ideas on that? I don't want it touching TS3, and I actually have TS2 installed via disc, as well, and don't know what putting it on Origin would do to that, or how to transfer games, etc, or if that's even possible. Just frustrating; wanted to play that older and wonderful game, and I can't get it working. Appreciate all the help, in any case!

@ladygreeneyes649 , TS2 is no longer available on Origin either to register, purchase or download. Unless you took advantage of the TS2 giveaway prior to October 2018, TS2 wouldn't show up and you'd have to still play from disk. It doesn't hurt to have an external disk drive and maybe it would read the disk ok.

It's already listed for me there, since I had pieces of it, I believe, so should be available. Might try the external drive.

@ladygreeneyes649 , also you can turn off Auto Update on Origin and allow only what you want to update to update. I keep it off, so I can update what I want to when I want to. 🙂
