Sims 2 does not start at all - Please read first post carefully before posting

Operating system: Windows 8.1

This is the error I get (OS language is Polish and so is the language of the error but the template is exactly the same as in English).

Wndows defender and windows firewall are running in the background, but the issue is still present after disabling them.

No cd-emulating software is installed.

No other Sims games are installed. 

Repair option in Origin didn't help. 

I hope you will be able to solve that issue! :-)  If you think that replacing PAUL.DLL with the version from The Sims 3 could help maybe you could upload that DLL here so we can try doing it? 

Edit: I found paul.dll from The Sims 3 in the Internet and replaced it as you advised - the game started (no "repair" in origin was needed)  - thank you.
