Ok, I'm no expert, just a stubborn and pety sonofabitch. I let that screen sit and play its stupid music for nigh on 20 minutes when bam: title screen. Apparently it has to transfer some blah blah files from here to there. Some = a gig or so. Give that a try. It may have been 25 minutes. I went downstairs for lunch and beer.
What stevek2703 said. Mine took 8 minutes to load the first time, but my PC is topnotch. Yours might need some more time, my Old XP PC took 15 minutes+ to load everytime I loaded up the Sims 2, even the first one it took awhile. If the music still plays, that's a good thing. Mine did the same thing, just give it a bit of time. Maybe watch some TV while you wait? Then just check back every so often, it'll load.
