Sims 2 in 2023 is unusable?

What is happening with the Sims2??

It won't run. It won't start. When it was running it insisted on the worst screen resolution.

EA please get this working, it is ridiculous that I own this entire franchise with it's expansions and can't play them.

I have tried removing the caches.

  I have reinstalled,

  I have repaired

I have restarted so many times it is ridiculous.

When people own things, they should get to use them. Your demand that things migrate to the online launcher has now officially ruined them.

Not everyone wants to move to a different Sims... also Sims 3 won't work now either.

  Ridiculous.

  • @peninah42 Since The Sims 2 has been retired, it is not fully compatible with modern systems out of the box. However, there are many fixes for different types of issues and, for most players, the game can be made playable on modern PCs.

To start, please describe the exact issues you are seeing. If you get an error message, what does it say?

Also, have you already used any fixes recommended by TS2 community? If so, please list them. Without any tweaks, the game will run on the lowest settings and probably be very unstable. To help with any of that, more details are welcome.

As for The Sims 3, it also needs some adjustments to help run it on modern PCs. We also have a Sims 3 section if you'd like more help with that:
