Sims 2 Legacy - Cut Scenes Missing and Causing Glitches

All the usual cut scenes from the original Sims 2 game (woohoo, having a baby, etc.) don’t work for me and glitch out the sims. When my sim tries having a baby, the cut scene skips but the Build/Buy modes are locked as if an event if happening and the baby appears in the family, but is not on the lot. The pregnant sim appears to still be pregnant. You can still play the game, but the baby is nowhere to be seen. Travelling to another lot does not fix the glitch. Is this happening to anyone else?
