Sims 2 normal skins not loading

@zoedepouqs , do you have any CC skins in game or perhaps any CC no matter the type in game? And have you used Graphics Rule Maker to add your graphics card to the game? Just trying to figure out what may have caused it. 

One way to possibly correct it is to locate your Sims 2 folder (found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2) and move it to your Desktop. Do not copy and paste it or create a short cut, actually move it. Next start up your game, allowing for a new Sims 2 folder to generate and start up a new game as none of your saved games will be present (they are currently on your Desktop in the old folder). When you start up a new game, go into Create a Sim and see if this has cleared up the error. If it has, play for about an hour to make sure there are no other errors that you notice.

I have no CC at all. The original game files were already on my desktop (not a shortcut) I wonder if there is a way to uninstall and reinstall the base game without uninstalling the expansions (I have all). I have recently bought a newer Sims 2 base game disk to try this.

Please advise.

@zoedepouqs , I am not sure if there is a way to uninstall just one piece of the game. I would totally uninstall the entire game (a pain I know) and install just the Base game to be safe. That way you can test and patch everything up to date on that and then test to make sure everything runs ok.
