Sims 2 Not Saving Game Progress

I have a problem with my sims 2 double Delux game for PC.  When I reinstalled it after a computer crash.  Now my game won't save any of my progress.  When I create a sim, or build a house and play for a while then save and shut down for the night the game says that it's saved.  When I start the game and try to go back to my house that I was playing on it is completely gone as if it never exsisted.  How do I fix this problem becuase I would like to play again.
