SIMS 2 UC Crashing + Purple Textures

Hello,

I have a laptop running Windows 10 Home, Intel i7 7700HQ, Nvidia GTX 1080 Max-Q , and a 120hz G-Sync display.

When I first installed Sims 2 UC it would crash before even loading a neighborhood. I manually added my GPU rules and adjusted my texture memory etc. The card detected fine, however, I still was not able to load in. I found a 4GB patch to apply to the .exe which (sometimes, mainly using Windows 7 compatibility mode) allows me to load into a neighborhood and run for at least a little while. The problem now, is I still can't figure out how to completely stop crashes, but also have bright purple/pink textures flashing everywhere and the character's don't load in. They are permanently stuck in a t-pose, even in the loading screens.

Any ideas???

  • That looks like a problem with texture memory, even though you said you fixed it the game might not be recognising your fix. Could you upload your config-log file?  It will be in your Documents/EA GAMES/The Sims 2 UC/Logs folder and it is called <your PC name>-config-log.txt
