Sims 2 Ultimate Collection asks for Activation Code

I've recently installed the Sims2 UC on my computer and i've even been able to play it for a few hours, but upon trying to launch the game, origin is asking for an Activation Code for the game. I do have it, since i obtained the game back in 2014 when it was being gifted, but my game wont launch asking for that code and i can't activate the game either, because a window saying I don't have a wifi connection pops up and i can't go back or forward (Even though i do have a wifi connection). Pushing the "Try again" Button is futile since origin thinks im still offline even though i'm not. How can i fix this?

I've tried reinstalling both origin and the game but nothing seems to work

  • @Roxyllo , so the game is installed? Origin shouldn't keep asking for an activation code since you already own the game. Ok, are you running with any mods or CC in the game?

There is one way to troubleshoot this easily and it resets the game to a "vanilla" state with no saved games, CC or mods.

Go to Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 folder. Move the folder to your desktop. Do not copy and paste or create a short cut. Move it to your Desktop and rename it something like Sims 2 Original folder. Don't worry, the game regenerates a new one. Your CC and saved games are safe on your Desktop at the moment.

Start up the game as normal. If you still get the activation code message, we'll need to dive deeper. Please let us know what happens once you try this.

First of all, thank you for your attention, i appreciate it

Yes, the game was instalaled without any errors and I even was able to play it for a little bit, with CC and all. I did try to remove custom content and the whole folder inside My Documents to create a new batch of files, it didn't work. I even did a clean reinstall of the game and tried to launch it without custom content or mods, but it did not work either, sadly. Origin still asked for an activation code before launching the game.

I did use the Graphics Extender, maybe that's also part of the problem. I guess the sims 2 is a really old game and struggles to run in newer machines.

Truth be told, i got frustrated and i desisted in trying to install the Sims 2 but thanks for the reply, as i said i really appreciate it
