Sims 2 Ultimate Collection doesn't seem to have all the patches

I have the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. I have bugs/problems which, on reading forums, are apparently fixed in the patches. This implies to me that the Ultimate Collection is not completely patched; or somehow the patches aren't working.

I'm not asking for new patches: I know that EA is choosing to no longer support Sims 2. All I want is for the existing patches to work!

I went to an internet archive and downloaded a copy of the official Pets patch, to try to keep my birds from dying. Unfortunately, the patch claimed it couldn't find Pets in my computer; despite me having Ultimate Collection.

I can verify that my version of Ultimate Collection (downloaded straight off Origin) doesn't have the Pets patch: womrats running in their wheels wake my sims. The patch fixlist says that wouldn't happen if it were patched.

Would it be possible, pretty please, to generate an archival copy of the patches and ensure that it works with Ultimate Collection, and make that available? All I want is the existing patches, nothing new.

Or if I might be being daft and missing having noticed something that would patch the game, please let me know what it is.
