Sims 2 ultimate collection: product key not working?

i cant not get it to work i tried opening bodu shop enabling it in game still to no avail it will not work. i really cant enjoy this game without it so i am hoping you can help me. i run windos 8.1. can you please explain in lamens stlye i am no computer guru here. thank you so much hope i can get this solved to and thank you for making sims 2 free i had all the games accpt a few of the garden and clothing patches i am very grateful for this 🙂
