What error are you getting?
Try running it in compatibility for XP Service Pack 2 (NOT 3), and turning off compatibility mode altogether.
An error that says the applicaiton has crashed and needs to terminate. I've tried XP and without compatibility too but no luck

I had that problem and it was fine when I switched to compatability mode (XP sp3). Maybe it's a problem with your grapics chip. Mine's an Intel HD 4000 and the screen blinks when I move the camera, walls vanish momentarily when I place furniture, and the water is all blocky. Since your graphics chip is worse than mine, perhaps it just can't handle the game.

I could play on a much worse computer than this, I know my chip is bad but it's ok with quite a few games. The graphics seem pretty good on mine, I think its the system, lots of people are complaining of the same problem as me and we dont have the same chips
