Sims 2 Ultimate Collection won't load my neigborhood

I backed up all my Sims 2 files, uninstalled The Sims 2 completely via EA's guide, and installed the new Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. I loaded the game and saw all the default neighborhoods in place....

What they said in the tutorial is absolutely true and cannot be circumvented. You need to have one of those "collections" installs. My version of "Pets," for example, was the original installation which is just "The Sims 2 Expansion Pack" and not "The Sims 2: Fun with Pets Collection." My installation files do not include an EP99 folder.

I don't have an EP99 folder either.  Is there a fix if you don't have that folder??
