Sims 2 Ultimate collection won't open.

It's probably beacause of windows 8. When the game was released it was made for windows 7. I have the same problem, so I guess we won't be able to play it 😕mileyfrustrated:

I have Win7 and it does the same thing (when I check task manager, sims are there for about 10 seconds and then disappear...), just won't start. Tried everything, didn't help...

so maybe it isn't what type of windows we're running? + i even tried reinstalling it but it didn't help so i wouldn't recommend that btw. i wish there was at least an error message. Maybe then i'd have a gist of what was going on. :-/

Hm. I can play it fine on Windows 8 but I can't even get past the 'can't connect to servers' error on Windows 7. I have yet to figure out how to fix it, despite disabling firewalls and allowing the game as an exception.

i wonder why mine doesn't work but yours does.. (albeit only on windows 8.)  hopefully someone can come up with a solution because i'd really like to play the game. ☹️

I have Windows 7 and have the same exact problem. And mines took two days to download. I have no idea why. Really fustrating.

I have no idea. I find it odd that everyone seems to have issues playing on Windows 8, but I didn't have any, aside from graphics skipping maybe but I believe there's a fix for that. I can't make it work on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop, and others seem to have no issues. So. Confused.

This is exactly the problem I have. I'm also on Windows 7, I get a few seconds of a 'loading' cursor and then nothing. I spent a good half hour on the phone today with customer service and we ended up getting nowhere. He gave me some things to try once we were off the phone, but they didn't end up helping.

I did try running the game from compatability mode, for the record, as Windows XP Packet 2.

Ugh having the same problem. I've tried launching it through origin, the file location & the desktop icon but I only got a blue loading circle that disappeared after about 10 seconds. I'm using windows 7 btw

Could you post this info: 

1. Click on Start and then type the following into the search prompt at the bottom: perfmon /rel
2. Press Enter to proceed.
3. A window will open and in there you can click on the red circles with a white X.
4. After clicking the X, the info on the bottom will update. Choose the Sims 3 Critical Event one and right click on it and choose "View Technical Details"
5. Now on the next window, choose Copy to clipboard at the very bottom and post this into a reply to us here.
