@Tremayne4260 also, I know that for careers and skin tones it can be dangerous to delete them if the Sim had them in the last save, but what about objects? Does it matter if I delete let's say a plant pot that I had placed in a house? Or it'll just disappear from the game with no issue one I retrieve my saved game?
@kcassendo , deleting objects isn't as bad. The game will simply "replace" the objects if they are missing from your CC.

@Tremayne4260 okay thanks. So what is the list of steps to recover the saved game?

@kcassendo , if you want to add back your saved games, you need to make sure the neighborhoods are not named the same as any of the current game neighborhoods. N001 is Pleasantview, N002 is Strangerville, and N003 is Veronaville. So if any of your custom neighborhoods are named any of these three, you will need to rename them and each of the files found within. So if you see a file named for example N002.Lot001, you will need to rename it to whatever name you choose for your custom neighborhood such as N004.Lot001. And you need to do that for each file in the Neighborhood folder. Once all files are renamed, you can then simply move the file your Neighborhood folder (found Documents > EA Games > Sims 2.).
If you custom neighborhood does not share a similar file name to any of the three files listed above, simply move the entire Neighborhood folder into the existing Neighborhood folder in your Sims 2 file.

@Tremayne4260 Hi Tremayne sorry for the delay!!
Okay I will try that today. Should I also move the savedsims and packagedlots folders?
- Tremayne42606 years agoHero
@kcassendo , yes move both of them.

@Tremayne4260 hi Tremayne! So I renamed every file and just moved the new folder to the neighborhood folder and in the game it added a town named "Downtown" instead....and I can't enter it as the game crashes when I try to do so....any idea why? ☹️
- Tremayne42606 years agoHero
@kcassendo , that's probably a corrupted file. I just checked and the Downtown folders I have are all attached to each town like Pleasantview and Veronaville. That's weird that it would do that.

@Tremayne4260 Yes same! Everything was in order in the file. I really don't get why it wouldn't show the whole town. But I think I found a solution.
I had made a back up in SimPE not too long before I lost everything. So I just took the N002 file and moved it to the neighborhoods folder, and moved out the default N002 folder (Strangeville). It worked! I'll see today if objects disappear (I ran my tests before and removed the suspicious cc but we never know). Only reaaaally weird thing: I have a half wall option that disappeared?? Build mode options can disappear too??! Look in the picture attached, this is the half wall I had used and now it's no longer in the build mode options. I checked online for a solution but couldn't find any. I already deleted the build mode thumbnail but it didn't change anything.
Any idea?
Thank you

@kcassendo , hum... that's odd. I've never known any build options to disappear. Or objects for that matter (build objects I mean). Sounds like something in that file is really not liking the game.

@Tremayne4260 i think maybe my game just became extremely corrupted? Should I try to uninstall and then reinstall the game again and then restore my backup?
- Tremayne42606 years agoHero
@kcassendo , yes, that sounds like the best plan.
