Since they've officially announced the Sims 5 (biggest eyeroll physically possible) what are some of your favorite features from the Sims 3 that they totally skipped over for the Sims 4 that you think could really make the Sims 5 way better?? Feel free to also include Sims 4 features since even though I don't love that game, there were some cool things! I'll go first!
- Skin, hair, & eye color customization! No more palettes, give us color wheels!!
- I know people have said this many times, but open world gameplay, PLEASE!
- Better storylines, I felt that sims 3 worlds and expansions had more personality than sims 4
- Expansion & game packs are not obviously a cash grab and have actual content in them (I'm looking at sims 4 werewolves, vampires, & spellcasters vs sims 3 supernatural)
I could come up with some more but I want to leave gameplay stuff for other people to share!
I have recently gone back to playing the Sims 3 (on a new computer) even though jumping through hoops to get the game to run. Still can't install some packs as it freezes my game.
Things I would like to see in the Sims 5. The biggest thing about the Sims 3 over the Sims 4 is how the non playing Sims play a role in the game. They are alive in the game, have character, interact with other Sims in the game, doing all kinds of things that make the game fun. This was also the case in the Sims 2.
I love the colour wheel to customize items. This makes the game very individual.
I enjoy the "opportunies" in the game although not so much being linked to achieving things like being able to make the first Simbot or getting an Omi Plant.
I like the open world but it comes at a price. I like being able to rotate my households in play. I want to be able to go back to the family I previously played and find that everything is exactly as I left them, just as they were in the Sims 2.
I would like to see University where it was more like in the Sims 2. Not as in the Sims 3 and Sims 4 where classes are controlled. Graduation in the Sims 3 and Sims 4 was never as good as in the Sims 2. Also a secret society as in the Sims 2. All these little touches make the game fun.
I would like to see a more Open for Business EP as in the Sims 2. This was never the same in the Sims 3 and Sims 4.
Not keen on the rabbit holes in the Sims 3 or the fact we cant send our Sims to visit other worlds from the one they live in without moving the entire household or saving the household to the bin.
I love World Aventures in the Sims 3 as a vacation destination. Something like this in a new Sims 5 would be fun.
I love playing the firefighters in the Sims 3. In the Sims 4 sending Sims to a place of work is fun and I would like to see this in a new Sims 5
The Sims 3 has lot of issues with bugs. I feel that they should be concentrating on getting any issues in a new Sims 5 game sorted before adding new content. It does not make for fun playing when things are not working as they should.
I like to the freedom to choose whether I play with aging on or aging off and to make choices about how I play my game. I don't want to be controlled to play in a certain way. I want the choice of not having the game decide for me about how other Sims are controlled in the neighbourhood by moving them in/out, letting them have babies, etc. The game should be how I want to play my neighbourhood and options to turn features off like this should be available.
I would like to be able to put down any grid size anywhere in the neighbourhood to add houses or build on. I have always found this restrictive in the Sims 3. I much preferred how the Neighbourhoods were in the Sims 2. I always found building in the Sims 3 difficult especially with basements. It seemed so much easier for me in the Sims 2. I try not to build in the Sims 4 but it did seem a bit better than in the Sims 3 for me at least.
I would like to see EP's added in order of life experiences so we can build on our Sims lives. I think the University EP in the Sims 3 was added far to late. It should have been one of the first EP's to added to the game.
I am sure I will come across more things that are fun as I continue to play the Sims 3, that are better than the Sims 4. I have only been playing a few months after not playing for nearly decade. But it is a lot more fun to play even with all the bugs and gliches!
