Good morning gurus!! Please forgive me if this is not expressed in the way you guys intended. This is not a wish list I promise. I tried my best to explain my ideas within the guidelines. Thank you for this opportunity and for listening.
I've expressed similar thoughts before but when I think of depth I think of "more meaningful gameplay" sims being able to interact with eachother in more meaningful ways. For example, a sick sim practically has to care for himself. Being sick would be so much more meaningful if a sim could care for another sim lovingly. Administer medicine and soup. Carry their sick child to bed. Or walk them if it's older than a child and tuck them in. Sit at their bed side and cheer them up. Take their temperature, feed them soup, etc. Things that get sims caring and interacting with eachother in meaningful ways. Just like there are not many meaningful ways to comfort a sad or crying sim. He usually has to cry it out alone under the covers. And I always wished my other sim can hold him until he feels better.
Additionally, sims being able to have an active career together, sims being able to ride boats together, or have a sim sit on the back of the jetski or bike together. More sim on sim interactions that doesn't require objects like tag, board games and spin the bottle on the floor, piggy back rides, carrying kids on your shoulder. Things of that nature.
It means a lot that you guys added the hiking together, where sims can walk and talk together, cook together as a group. ❤ I love that you are trying to expand the game in more meaningful ways. I think you got the idea. But just to throw more types of possible interactions out there I'll add: sims being able to feed other sims (not romantically) walking and holding hands, walking with a sim on their back, pillow fights, sims riding on the front of back of bikes, crying on a sims shoulder. Sim A being able to hold sim B in their arms just in general or while talking to sim C. Cuddling while sleeping, being able to carry a napping sim from the couch to bed, a sik being able to cry on another sim, being able to sit on a sims lap, rock a toddler to sleep in rocking chair, sit on the floor by the fireplace and cuddle with a sim, I can go on and in but I won't ? I just wanted to express my thoughts throughly.
Most people just scream story progression, wants and fears. But when I think depth it's the little things that mean the most, the ways sims interact and come together, and the way they interact in meaningful ways that make you look back or remember the little moments they had, how they fed home cooked soup to their sick partner or child and checked on them until they were all better. That's depth to me.
When it comes to challenge I think people have already expressed how useful the lot challenges could be so I won't say much. But it really is a GREAT opportunity for those who love challenges and those who don't so that nothing has to be nerfed for those of us who like riskier gameplay. So I really hope to see many many more challenges. Natural disasters, robbers, super crazy storms that lead to flooding, cops, zombies that rise and attack your house, intense vampire break ins, the options are endless and it's a win win for everybody. ?
I do have a concern. The constant nerfing of things that are a challenge everytime someone complains. Take the jealousy trait for example. I've had my jealous sim since 2015 and it was a bit of a challenge to play with him but that was the fun part!! He was always suspicious, envious of others in relationships and jealous.
People complained the trait was too intense and it got nerfed. Now my jealous sim is a regular smegular boring old sim that behaves like every other sim. Dude is literally not even jealous unless you do something directly in front of him. Like all other sims. His individuality was taken from him when all people had to do was not use the trait. So how can we have more challenge if every challenge in the game is nerfed upon complaint?
That's been a concern of mine for a while. The same happened to my celebrity. Sims barely notice my 5 star compared to how it was before it was nerfed. It was a "challenge" to be a 5 star celebrity and live a normal life. But I had a blast fighting against that challenge. Now that was taken away too because of others.
I would like to see more intense challenging sim traits. People complain constantly that sims all feel and act the same but in the same breath complain about any individual personality the trait gives them?
What depth will story progression or wants and fears bring if there is no deep individual personality?
Bring back jealous sims to their full glory and additional sim traits of challenge. Literally no one has to use them. Would love to see an over protective sim trait. That would be a fun challenge to live with.
You are probably tired of me at this point but I have one more thing to add regarding this topic! ? REACTIONS. Depth is missing from the game due to the lack of sim reactions. Actually you guys have improved in that department. (Thank you) I remember the time my sim would not even react to his date getting bitten by a vampire.
But there is so many more ways this could be improved. Like for example a sim with a hates child trait visiting their friend, then being mean to that friends child or toddler. No reaction from the parents whatsoever. They have not a single care what you do to their kid? they should kick them out or at least fuss at them for it.
My vampire goes to a restaurant all bloody and crazy looking in his vampire form. No one cares.... In a case like this the "scary" trait would be perfect. Where sims gets scared upon seeing that hideous vampire. And it's optional.
This is an example of some of the many reactions sims lack. Makes them feel lifeless and unaware of their surroundings, enemies or friends.
Would love for them to acknowledge more situations and things in general like their children's grades, their sick child or patner or sibling, twin sibling acknowledgement, or the fact that a sim is flirting with their partner. They should get mad at the flirting sim, not their partner if they didn't initiate it. Also we NEEEEEEED a loyalty trait. And more sentiments ??
Once again thank you for this opportunity! I love you guys and I love ts4! I really do have so much fun with this game. Very happy to see that you are always looking to improve it. Your continued dedication is appreciated. ???????? (these are real hearts not the censored hearts)?
