NO! Non, Nein, Nyet, Lo, Ou, Ouk, Ouchi, No bloody way! Anything cloud based is out there for all who have the skills to hack and mess with as well as see. My current employer's financial software is cloud based and is a nightmare to use, is prone to freezing, is frustratingly slow when not frozen, and has the nasty habit of crashing at the most inconvenient time possible. It is taken down regularly for server maintenance. And that's without the Orwellian 1984 feeling I got from the OP's post.
