I played The Sims Online (EA Play) when it first came online. It came with a monthly fee and you could pay for multiple accounts (I think 3 was the max allowed). That was fun but it became riddled with problems that forced EA to shut it down so Sims 5/Project Rene would not be the first game I played online if that were the case.
