Sims Legacy - Superstar Bug

My Sim is a 5 star celebrity, so he is eligible for Marilyn Monroe to come to his house and give him a Simmy award. Every time this happens, the graphics freeze just as Marilyn hands my Sim the award.

The game seems to continue running in the background. I can speed up/slow down time via the keyboard and hear accompanying game sounds speed up and slow down. However, the graphics remain frozen at the moment Marilyn hands my Sim the award.

If I tab out of and back into the game, it locks up completely and I have to force close. I'm not sure how to close the game any other way when this happens because the game doesn't really "crash," and I'm not able to blindly navigate the menu options. This also causes me to lose all progress since the last save.

This has happened at least three times, both before and after Patch #2 was released on February 6.
