Something I remember in TS2 is how the sims, if you do the alter appearance in the mirror, will let you know what they think of your efforts. I've seen responses range from covering mouth and nearly throwing up to wild estatic cheers, with many of various levels in between. While not so dramaticaly, they also let you know what they think of your choices in decor - be it furniture, lights, decorative items, doors and windows, or whatever. They will also on their own let you know if a need is very low, no looking at the panel necessary. TS2 sims seem very much to be real little pixel people. EA's lying propaganda notwithstanding, TS4 sims aren't even close.
