That reminds me of when I was filming for a story video in TS4 and I had sat one Sim down in another room so I could film two others having a conversation. I be darn if she didn't pop up out of nowhere and stand and listen to their conversation. I was so mad, lol, I had to totally rewrite what I had planned and include her into the conversation, as I didn't feel like redoing any of that. (Free Will was off)
