I tend to try to hit auto-resolve on needs a lot just to check the flow of lots when I'm playtesting them and hitting auto-resolve on the social need tends to be wildly amusing because their first instinct for interactions is so trait and mood based. So many autonomous mischief fails that sometimes become flirting????? I have found the group rules from get together can work wonders here with NPCs (at least on community lots) in making them stay together, interact, and take care of needs (if you're judicious with the activities you pick, like reserving a slot for eating or drinking.)
