9 years agoThe application will now terminate error message Sims 2 Store Edition
Haven't launched Sims 2 in a while. I always have an issue after not playing it for some time. Usually it's a missing disc error even when the correct disc is in there, but this time I have the application has crashed and will now terminate dialog box (which only pops up during gameplay sometimes). I can get the game to run but it'll only play the EA and Sims 2 intro. Once it gets to the splash screen it freezes and my computer's cursor shows up in the middle of the screen, where the error message is, instead of the game's cursor. I have to then exit out of the game with ctrl+alt+del and click OK on the dialog box. Then the game closes. This always happens even if I let both intros play and wait for the loading screen to come up. If I skip the intros at any given time it'll come up as well. FYI I did mess with the splash screen since there are mods that allow you to change it to something different, and now I can't actually locate the original UI file to replace whatever mod I had in my game files. Also tried to run TS2 store edition as administrator & in compatibility mode and both didn't solve this problem. Running Windows 7 on bootcamp. Please help
Hi @crystalsilv3r,
If you think the issue might be related to changes made in the files, I would reinstall the game, as that should undo the changes you made in the game files.
If reinstalling the game is a problem, you could get in contact with one of our advisers through EA Help, they might be able to turn your copy of the game into the Ultimate Collection version, which can be downloaded through Origin. You will find a detailed explanation on how to contact them if you need it here.
If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask 🙂
