The Sims 2 - Direct x 9 windows 10

I got the sims 2 ultimate collection when Origin was offering it and I played it quite a bit.. Since then I have gotten a new computer with windows 10 and I reinstalled the game to see if I could play it again and I can't. I have tried all the fixes I have seen, I can't seem to be able to install direct x 9 itself on my computer and I miss playing the sims 2... Any ideas?

  • Hello!

I'm not sure how to operate the launch from Origin, but Search for the Sims 2 Graphic Rules Maker. This will make the graphic card recognizable by adding it to the game, and the next thing to do is match your texture size with the texture size on your computer.

    Good Luck!

This has worked for me, except i play using the CDs. But it will locate the origin files and try to fix it.

I know this is an old thread, but I am having this same issue myself with the Ultimate Collection. I have tried running it with and without running the Graphics Rules Maker and get this error message: "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate." According to dxdiag, DirectX 11 is installed. I tried to update the drivers for my graphics card but that didn't work either. I am at my wits' end. I really want to play my favorite game.
